No, Dolby Atmos is a technology that enables spatial audio and height channels.
Spatial Creator can produce audio files that make use of Dolby Atmos technology on compatible devices, but it does not aim at replacing Atmos as it does not provide any way to play the generated surround files.
Is this a replacement for SOFA?
No, SOFA is a way to downmix surround sound into stereo to give an impression of spatial audio with stereo speakers. Spatial Creator does none of this.
All that Spatial Creator does is transform a stereo song into surround sound, that you may then be able to play on stereo speakers using SOFA.
Someone sent me a .sds file, is this safe?
While we cannot guarantee for sure that Scene files (.sds) are always safe, we have designed them in a way that prevents a malicious actor from using Scene files to run arbitrary and potentially malicious code on your system.
However, always exercise caution with files you find online, and review Scene files carefully before using them.
